OPEX Introduces Model 60 for Clean Mail Processing

Press release from the issuing company

OPEX Corporation, a worldwide manufacturer of mail sorting and mail extraction equipment, introduces the Model 60 Rapid Extraction Desk. OPEX’s Model 60 is the perfect rapid extraction desk for clean mail processing. The Model 60 is the latest addition to OPEX’s existing line of high-speed mail opening equipment and is intended to address an increased customer demand for same size envelope processing. With 30 years of expertise in developing unique mail handling solutions, OPEX is known worldwide for their high quality mail extraction equipment. The Model 60’s ergonomic design and speed offers an excellent solution for mail processing operations with incoming volumes of 2,000 or more envelopes per day. OPEX’s Model 60 Rapid Extraction Desk can achieve transport speeds in excess of 4,500 pieces of mail per hour and has microprocessor storage capabilities for an unlimited combination of job set-ups and operators. OPEX’s Model 60 was designed to efficiently and smoothly open high volumes of mail containing envelopes of the same size. This machine features a vertical feeder and selectable cutters. The vertical feeder makes loading mail convenient and easy for the operator, because there is no need to maneuver an envelope pusher. An additional accessory outlet for a radio, CD player or various auxiliary devices is included on North American models, as a standard feature. The Model 60 provides three cutting options, which adds to the value of this machine. The operator can now select from one-sided, two-sided or three-sided cutting, allowing for cut depth adjustments from zero to _”. There are advantages to both two-sided and three-sided cutting. For two-sided cutting, the cut goes along the top and end. The benefit to the customer with a two-sided cut is that it allows the envelope to serve as a pocket, so that the contents and envelope can be reunited. The three-sided cut goes along the ends and across the top. The usefulness to the customer with a three-sided cut is that it allows for easy access, including left-handed or right-handed access. “The Model 60 was designed for optimal operator comfort and efficiency,” according to Mark Stevens, OPEX Corporation’s President. “The vertical feed area and three-sided cutting option helped us to achieve a machine that increases both ergonomic benefits and productivity.” From an ergonomic standpoint, the Model 60 provides benefits to the operator, including an increased desktop surface. The machine’s layout offers a comfortable operator fit with positioning further into the machine, convenient reach to the feeder and better visibility to the content rack. For easy access to the front of the machine, the entrance to the work area is flared, providing increased access to the display and tray areas. The Model 60 is a quiet machine to operate, with an overall reduced noise level. The Model 60 is equipped with a Verifier unit comparable to the Model 51. The electrical requirements for OPEX’s Model 60 are different, however, providing customers with more flexibility in floor space and machine set-up. Two Model 60’s can be hooked up to the same outlet due to less amperage requirements, without compromising machine performance. The Model 60 is available directly through OPEX via an extensive network of Sales Engineers worldwide throughout the United States and Europe.
