HANOVER PARK, Ill., January 21, 2003 – Since installing Fujifilm’s Saber Luxel P-9600 CTP platesetter, Lindon, UT-based Printing Resource has experienced a higher sales volume while cutting costs, says Craig Brady, the company’s president. "Since installing our Saber and related proofing devices, Printing Resource has experienced a major increase in sales," explains Brady. "Though part of the increase may be attributable to the new equipment, my real surprise came as a result of the amount of work our prepress department could produce." Dave Pendleton, prepress manager at Printing Resource, agreed, saying the prepress department was able to cut down one full-time position. "That person is now able to do other things, which is another advantage," he notes. Pendleton adds that the company is now 100 percent CTP, which is much less expensive. Brady says the company had long contemplated going CTP because of the cost savings, but he didn’t expect to benefit from the increased productivity so soon after the installation. "We recognized that eliminating the cost of all that film would save us a ton of money," says Pendleton. "We’ve at least doubled our productivity." Pendleton notes that Printing Resource is a Fujifilm shop and that he has always respected the quality of the company’s products. When Printing Resource was founded in 1997, it had less expensive equipment, but he quickly chose to go with Fujifilm products because of the superior quality. Pendleton explains that many of the company’s clients are advertising agencies, where printing quality is a major concern. "I am thrilled with the results," says Brady. "The Saber is outstanding. After installation, our staff was up to speed in no time. We are now able to give our customers unparalleled quality with very short turnaround times."
