Creo Profile Wizard 2.5 Now Bundled with GretagMacbeth Eye-One Pro

Press release from the issuing company

Vancouver, BC, Canada (January 15, 2003) – Creo is now providing better value for designers and graphic arts professionals by shipping the Profile Wizard™ ICC profiling solution with the award-winning Eye-One Pro spectrophotometer from GretagMacbeth. This bundle provides a powerful, affordable, high-quality color management solution for the creative and prepress markets. The Creo Profile Wizard 2.5 application automatically builds and intelligently fine-tunes ICC-based profiles for input devices, monitors, and output devices. The special ICC DeviceLink profile of Profile Wizard preserves the black channel, delivering clear black text and detail rendering. For profiling non-CMYK color spaces such as Hexachrome, Creo offers the manyColors option for Profile Wizard that adds multi-channel profiling capabilities. Profile Wizard software works with the Creo line of proofing solutions including Iris proofers; the new Veris™ proofer; and the Lotem™ Spectrum, Trendsetter Spectrum, or Proofsetter Spectrum™ proofing devices. The GretagMacbeth Eye-One Pro spectrophotometer measures color in both reflective and emissive modes, quickly and accurately scans color patches, and measures both CRT and flat panel displays. This handheld spectrophotometer provides GretagMacbeth’s professional quality measurement technology at an affordable price. “We selected the Eye-One Pro device for its superior performance and flexibility," said Sharon Ziv-Falk, Profile Wizard product manager at Creo. ”The Profile Wizard 2.5 and Eye-One bundle provides Creo users with an easy-to-use, cost-effective and highly accurate way of producing ICC profiles for scanners, monitors and output devices. This allows our end user to establish a complete ICC workflow within their production environment.” “We are excited to participate with Creo to validate our ease-of-use standards for the demanding creative professional, while enabling GretagMacbeth’s technology and brand to reach a broader base of professionals,” said Iris Mangelschots, vice president of Worldwide OEM Sales at GretagMacbeth. “This is a key milestone in furthering our relationship with Creo on a worldwide basis, especially as the Eye-One Pro device will be offered with the new Creo Integris proofer.” The Integris proofing system was introduced at Graph Expo last fall. The Profile Wizard 2.5 and Eye-One Pro bundled package is available worldwide through Creo sales representatives and authorized resellers.
