HP Digital Label Printing Technology Opens New Market for Jonergin Pacific

Press release from the issuing company

January 15, 2003 -- HP today announced that Jonergin Pacific, a prestigious wine label producer based in Napa, CA, recently installed an HP Indigo Press ws4000 for printing high-quality full-color labels on demand. A division of Invesprint Corporation, a Canadian manufacturer  of prime labels and specialty packaging, Jonergin Pacific has     a 30,000-square-foot facility in Napa where it creates pressure-sensitive labels for some of the largest wineries in California, Oregon and Washington State. The addition of the HP Indigo Press ws4000, a narrow-web digital press that provides fast,    cost-effective printing in up to seven colors, complements        the company's existing roster of high-end waterless offset equipment, and also helps meet the needs of smaller wineries    in the region. Launched at Labelexpo 2002 and designed specifically for short-to-medium run label printing, the HP Indigo Press ws4000 has an all-digital workflow that eliminates time spent on films, plates and set-up. Additionally, its advanced variable data capabilities allow easy updating of text and images, making the press particularly ideal for testing new label designs. "The HP Indigo Press ws4000 gives top wine label producers like Jonergin Pacific, which consistently provides its customers with the highest quality wine labels, a new way of serving their existing customer base, " said Vince Pentella, national sales manager, industrial markets, HP Indigo Division. "At the same time, the power and flexibility of HP digital printing technology opens the door for new business opportunities." According to Tadd Sibley, president of Jonergin Pacific, the HP Indigo Press ws4000 has opened new markets for Jonergin in three specific areas since it was installed last November. "We can provide a service to our customers that didn't exist before, namely test markets/research, special runs and premium label runs," Sibley said. "And we can offer the ultimate tool for wine label designers, creating anywhere from one label to a million labels where all the colors match." Quality was a pivotal factor in deciding on an HP Indigo digital press, and Jonergin worked closely with HP to ensure that the color and registration would be as close as possible to that produced on its offset presses. "Our particular niche in the industry sets standards that are incredibly difficult to achieve," Sibley said. "The ws4000 makes a significant contribution to maintaining that standard."
