Favorable Tax Rules, Economy Expected to Propel Record Numbers at GOA

Press release from the issuing company

Miami, Florida, 1/13/03 – Exemptions from Florida sales tax, a re-invigorated national economy, and printing equipment buyers with new 2003 purchasing budgets practically ensure that Graphics of the Americas 2003 will once again break all attendance records. The 28th annual printing, converting and design trade show, held January 24, 25, and 26th is the premier industry trade show in the Western Hemisphere. Show management reports that over 500 companies will attract more than 25,000 domestic and international attendees to visit over a half million square feet of space at the Miami Beach Convention Center. “The sales tax exemption can save the buyer tens of thousands of dollars on one major purchase alone,” said Chris Price, VP and General Manager for GOA 2003. “When you factor in the recovering economy, record low interest rates and the unallocated funds many printing equipment buyers will have in their budgets after the first of the year, it’s no wonder our show continues to break records, year after year.” The sales tax exemption to which Price refers applies to capital expenditures made at the show; Florida printers purchasing equipment at GOA 2003 do not have to pay sales tax when they complete the appropriate paperwork at the time of purchase. Certain qualifications apply, but on a purchase of $1 million dollars the savings can easily reach $65,000. “The low cost of attending our show and the incredible savings buyers realize when purchasing at our show make Graphics of the Americas one of the most attractive venues for major equipment purchases,” said Price. In all, over 500 companies will be represented at GOA 2003. The entire spectrum of printing, converting, digital and design will be covered. With more than 520,000 square feet of space, GOA 2003 will be the graphic arts industry’s premier exhibition of 2003. Graphics of the Americas is produced annually by the Printing Association of Florida, Inc., an industry trade association.
