Potlatch Reorganizes Consumer Products and Paperboard Division

SPOKANE, Wash.--Jan. 3, 2003--Potlatch Corporation today announced that it has reorganized its Consumer Products and Paperboard Division into two separate divisions. The company said the move reflects increasing management emphasis on its consumer products business, which continues to grow to meet customer demands. The division recently announced a $66 million expansion of its operation in Las Vegas, Nevada. In connection with this reorganization, Craig H. Nelson, formerly Vice President of the Consumer Products and Paperboard Division, has been appointed Vice President with responsibility for the Consumer Products Division. The Consumer Products Division includes tissue operations in Lewiston, Idaho, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Benton Harbor, Michigan, and related sales and marketing functions. He will continue to be headquartered in Lewiston. Harry D. Seamans has been appointed Vice President with responsibility for the Pulp and Paperboard Division. The Pulp and Paperboard Division includes operations in McGehee, Arkansas, and Lewiston, Idaho, and related sales and marketing functions. He will relocate to Lewiston, Idaho. Craig Nelson joined Potlatch in 1979 as a process engineer in the Consumer Products Division and held a succession of management positions in the division before being appointed Vice President, manufacturing, of the Lewiston unit in April 1993. He was elected Vice President, Consumer Products Division in May 1996 and Vice President of the Consumer Products and Paperboard Division in May 2000. He is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and a native of Rock Hill, South Carolina. Prior to his current assignment, Harry Seamans had been Mill Manager of the company's McGehee pulp and paperboard operation. A native of McGehee, Seamans began his career with Potlatch in 1977 as a process engineer at the McGehee mill and subsequently held a succession of positions at the facility before assuming management of the operation in 1993. He holds a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Louisiana Technical University and a master's degree in paper science from the Institute of Paper Chemistry. He also has a master's degree in business administration from Webster University. Potlatch Corporation is an integrated forest products company with 1.5 million acres of timberland in Idaho, Minnesota and Arkansas. Its products include lumber, panels, bleached pulp and paperboard and consumer tissue products.
