Muller Martini AMRYS Presented with an InterTech at Ceremony in New Orleans

Press release from the issuing company

New Orleans, Louisiana — A GATF InterTech Award was presented to Muller Martini’s AMRYS, the automated makeready system that is now available on a variety of the company’s finishing and bindery systems. "We thank GATF and its panel of distinguished judges for this special recognition," said Werner Naegeli, CEO and president. "The shorter press runs required by targeted marketing tactics mean binderies have to be equipped to switch from job to job faster than ever before. If they fail to keep pace, the alternative media will start taking projects away from printers. That’s why Muller Martini developed AMRYS, and its family of automated makeready equipment." The award is particularly impressive because AMRYS was the only finishing technology to receive an InterTech this year. The innovation is now available on three saddle stitchers — BravoPlus, PrimaPlus SB and Optima. Muller Martini has also incorporated AMRYS into three perfect binding lines, two trimmer models, two hard cover lines, a palletizer model and an OnDemand Web Press line. Printers and trade binderies can expect a higher return on investment (ROI) when they utilize AMRYS technology. The faster makereadies the innovation provides allows them to complete more jobs per shift. Another advantage: AMRYS need not be stopped and restarted for fine-tuning. It accepts adjustments on the fly to save additional time and further reduces waste. But it is the system’s unprecedented makeready speeds that really turned heads at GATF. One judge commented: "Meeting the demand for shorter runs in the future, Muller Martini realizes that efficient makereadies are just as important as machine run speeds."
