MAN Roland & NAPL Launch ProfitXL Module to Help Printers Evaluate Full-Size Presses

Press release from the issuing company

PARAMUS, N.J., Feb. 19, 2003 – ProfitXL software from the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL), the only financial management software designed specifically for printers, is being enhanced with a new Equipment Evaluation Module to help printers assess which press best fits their production needs and economic requirements. “Before printers invest their valuable resources in a new press, it’s critical that they accurately evaluate what the operating profitability of that press will be and how it suits the needs of their own organization,” said Dean J. D’Ambrosi, NAPL’s senior staff director, finance, and chief financial officer, in making the announcement. “The new enhancement to ProfitXL will enable them to do this quickly and easily.” NAPL plans to introduce the new module at its 2003 Top Management Conference, Feb. 19-23, 2003, in Scottsdale, Ariz. Developed as part of a joint project between NAPL and MAN Roland, Inc., Westmont, Ill., and created by Bridge Strategy Group, an independent market research firm, the Equipment Evaluation Module is based on performance data on the world’s most popular 40” presses from more than 100 printers, as well as major equipment manufacturers, making it the most extensive appraisal tool of its kind. To establish a benchmark for the analysis, all systems in the study were six-color presses, less than five years old. To maximize the new module’s usefulness to printers, NAPL is continuing to update and validate the data. For the first time, NAPL is making ProfitXL available to printers on a free, 30-day trial basis. If they are pleased with the tool’s performance, they may purchase it at the NAPL member price of $1,999.95 ($2,499.95 for non-members). Price includes the full software package, ongoing maintenance, help-line technical support, and all future upgrades and enhancements. Printers who would like to “test drive” the current version (2.5.4) can receive a free ProfitXL demo disk by calling (800) 642-6275, Option 3. About ProfitXL: The only financial management software designed specifically for printers, NAPL’s ProfitXL gives printers the tools they need to effectively manage their companies’ financial futures. The comprehensive tool helps printers control all the essentials that lead to a bigger bottom line by enabling them to: - Monitor their companies’ financial health on a daily basis. - Bid for maximum competitiveness and profitability. - Take control of their cash flow. - Determine the number of jobs and the amount of sales revenue needed to breakeven. - Compare investment scenarios for profitability. - Determine return-on-investment for each investment. The soon-to-be-introduced Equipment Evaluation Module is just one example of NAPL’s commitment to enhancing and upgrading this valuable business management software.
