Press release from the issuing company

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 12 -- Delphax Technologies Inc. today announced that the company has completed an agreement with DP Direct Ltd., a direct mail and fulfillment service provider, to establish the first major reference site for the Delphax high-speed CR Series digital press in the United Kingdom. Under the agreement, DP Direct purchased a direct mail printing solution featuring the Delphax CR900P continuous-feed digital press. Terms were not disclosed. "The CR900P solution from Delphax will produce at up to five times the speed of our existing equipment at an economical cost to our customers," said Andrew Smith, Managing Director of DP Direct. "We see the CR900P digital press as a means to enter markets which DP Direct has previously avoided, and we look forward to a long and mutually successful association with Delphax." Delphax introduced the CR Series this past April and announced the first U.S. sale in June. "We are excited about the performance of this new equipment and the interest it is generating in the commercial printing marketplace," said Jay Herman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Delphax Technologies. "The CR Series digital press is designed to deliver high quality printing at unprecedented speeds, a combination that translates into significant cost savings in direct mail and other on-demand printing applications. "The installation of this system in the United Kingdom is a significant step toward achieving our long-term strategic plan including entry into a number of new market segments internationally in both the cut-sheet and roll-fed arenas-market segments where we feel that the speed, quality and versatility of our equipment gives us a significant competitive edge." Delphax CR Series high-volume, roll-fed production systems offer industry-leading speed and feature the company's exclusive electron beam imaging (EBI) print engine technology. The systems feature high quality image and wide-format, duplex production at full 600 DPI print quality for publishers, direct mailers, bill and statement printers, in-house data and document centers and service bureaus.
