Objectif Lune and T/R Systems Form Strategic Alliance

Press release from the issuing company

ATLANTA--Dec. 12, 2002--T/R SYSTEMS, INC., a leader in developing innovative solutions for the management and production of digital documents, and Objectif Lune, a leader in variable data printing software for digital printing environments, announced today a strategic partnership to provide variable data print-on-demand (POD) solutions for their customers. Objectif Lune's PlanetPress is an open architecture tool for printing variable data and transactional documents on PostScript printers, with no change to the customers' host system. PlanetPress allows a wide variety of applications to be developed with ease in a Windows point and click design interface. Customers experience increased workflow efficiencies, lowered costs and outstanding presentation of mission critical documents. T/R Systems' MicroPress X Series is a document production server for POD customers that bridges the gap between low-volume workgroup printing and high-volume centralized printing. By combining powerful document "make-ready" capabilities, advanced job management and workflow tools and unique print device connectivity options, the MicroPress X Series provides customers with a scalable production printing system. The MicroPress X Series includes the MicroPress SX, DX and MX models, each of which addresses a different segment of the POD market from low- to high-volume. This collaboration will enable the MicroPress X Series to be configured with Objectif Lune's PlanetPress variable data printing software. "There is significant demand from our customers for this solution as POD environments continue to embrace variable data print applications," said Mike Kohlsdorf, President and CEO of T/R Systems. "The integration of PlanetPress with the MicroPress X Series will allow any organization to successfully address these needs with market-leading technologies." "We are excited about the combination of the two powerful and complementary technologies," said Howard Silverstein, President of Objectif Lune USA. "New heights for document output and printer control will be reached for high speed customized and transactional applications."
