X-Rite Appoints Norman Christopher As VP Corporate Development

GRANDVILLE, Mich.—February 7, 2003— X-Rite, a leading global provider of technology solutions measuring color, light and shape, today announced the appointment of Norman Christopher as Vice President, Corporate Development. Mr. Christopher reports to Richard E. Cook, X-Rite’s CEO. Christopher joins X-Rite as an experienced executive with over 25 years of global management experience, including assessing strategic growth opportunities, establishing new markets, acquiring technology-based companies and successfully launching new business start-ups. “X-Rite is pleased to have Mr. Christopher a part of our team,” says Richard E. Cook, X-Rite’s CEO. “His experience will be instrumental in assisting the organization’s future growth plans and positioning us successfully into new markets.” Christopher joins X-Rite from his position as President and CEO of Haviland Enterprises Inc., one of the most responsible and respected packager, blender, and distributor of chemicals, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Prior to joining Haviland Enterprises, he held the position of Managing Director, Business Development for Lubrizol Corporation in Wickliffe, Ohio, a recognized global leader in specialty lubricant additives, performance chemicals and fluid management systems. Christopher is a graduate of the University of North Carolina where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. In addition, he received his MBA from the University of Connecticut and completed the Harvard University Program for Management Development. He served in the United States Navy and retired as Lieutenant Commander USNR.
