Creo Releases TrapWise 3.6 with PDF/X Compliance, Upgraded Font Support

Press release from the issuing company

VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA -- December 4, 2002 -- Creo has released TrapWise(r) 3.6 software, the newest version of the stand-alone Macintosh(r)- and Windows(r)-based trapping solution. New product features in version 3.6 include enhanced abilities for Portable Document Format (PDF) workflows, improved font support, optimized document views, and the ability to deactivate raster-to-vector traps. TrapWise is compatible with all of the leading industry-standard file formats and can become part of any print production workflow used by commercial printers, packaging trade shops and converters, design bureaus, and prepress trade shops. TrapWise 3.6 software broadens the scope of the TrapWise Portable Document Format (PDF) workflow by adding the ability to import, trap, and output PDF/X-1a and PDF/X-3 files to the file formats TrapWise already supports. PDF/X support enhances the versatility of TrapWise by improving file readability and file transfer reliability. This version also improves cross-platform support for traditional font types, adds support for Open Type(r) fonts and reduces font search time. It also achieves overall performance improvements in the interactive work mode. Previewer display times are considerably faster now when switching between the different viewing modes and when toggling inks on and off.
