ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.--Nov. 27, 2002-- Danka Business Systems PLC today announced the election of Jaime W. Ellertson, chief executive officer of S1 Corporation , to Danka's board of directors. He also will serve on the Compensation and Danka 21 (strategy oversight) board committees. His election brings the membership of Danka's board to ten. Ellertson is a highly regarded software executive, with more than 20 years of experience leading high-growth software companies in challenging markets. At S1, he has led the successful rollout of the company's flagship S1 Enterprise software solution, which provides financial institutions with one view of their customers across multiple channels, applications, and segments. Other recent successes include driving growth at BroadVision as GM Worldwide Strategic Operations and as CEO and Chairman of Interleaf, Inc. where he led the company's transformation from a mature supplier of publishing software to a leading provider of XML solutions. Prior to Interleaf, Ellertson served as CEO of Tartan, Incorporated, a leading digital signal processor software provider, and was a founder of three software companies: Purview Technologies, Inc., which specialized in Internet network monitoring and management technology; Openware Technologies, a software development organization; and Document Automation Corporation, which provided software and services to the legal market. Ellertson currently serves on the Board of S1 Corporation, Apropos Technologies, Inc. and Trigo Technologies. "Jaime is a great addition to our board," said Lang Lowrey, Danka chairman and chief executive officer. "He's a seasoned executive, strategist, and entrepreneur - all rolled into one. Throughout his career, Jaime has consistently demonstrated an ability to focus his companies on the development and execution of strategies that drive higher revenues and superior shareholder returns. In addition, his guidance will be particularly helpful as we move our Danka @ the Desktop(TM) solution into the mainstream of our business and begin to incubate other high-value software solutions for our customers."
