November 27, 2002 -- The CD-ROM based training program for the printing industry now includes many topics having to do with digital preparation of printing projects. Also, the entire Spanish presentation has been re-translated for easier reading by the many dialects of the Spanish language. At a click of the mouse, every screen is presented in Spanish. By popular request, many topics about digital procedures are now discussed to understand how a printing job gets from an idea to the computer, then to negatives and plates or directly to the press. Now, people working in print shops or coming into the graphics industry can receive detailed information on more than 250 topics in 14 chapters of basic day-to-day activities, all presented by computer in the work place. As more print shops convert to digital equipment, more training on these topics is needed. Version 2.0 will allow the trainee to understand how these procedures work and how they are different from previous procedures. Taking this in-house course is a career building experience for workers who might otherwise remain in the lower-salary jobs in the industry. For the first time, this is a single training program on CD-ROM that can allow a good sales person from another industry to become an effective graphic arts sales representative within just two to three weeks. This will fulfill a tremendous need for small and medium sized shops throughout the country. For details, visit www.printshop101.com or contact LSR Publishing Group at 813-926-9000.
