Senate Confirms Bruce James as Public Printer

Press release from the issuing company

Alexandria, VA (November 21, 2002) — The Printing Industries of America, (PIA), a trade association that represents over 13,000 printers in the manufacturing sector, applauds Senate’s action of the confirmation of Bruce James to become Public Printer of the United States. “Bruce James is representative of the characteristics that exemplify the members of our industry — a strong family man, a successful entrepreneur, a man of ideas and actions and a natural leader,” Benjamin Y. Cooper. “We are hopeful that Bruce James, with his broad understanding of the industry, will be able to demonstrate to government customers what the private sector already knows — the printing industry is in the information business. Print is still the way most people get their information and PIA would like give it’s full support to Bruce James in achieving that goal.” Bruce James of Crystal Bay, Nevada has been confirmed by the Senate as the 24th Public Printer of the United States. Prior to his retirement in 1993, Bruce was active with PIA as a member of the Printing Industries of Northern California, the Printing Industries of California and the PIA Government Affairs Committee. James was nominated by President Bush in August.
