Xinet Releases WebNative Suite Plug-ins

Press release from the issuing company

BERKELEY, California -- Xinet, Inc., the leader in digital asset management, today announced the release of WebNative ID, Annotator ID, and Asset Browser ID for Adobe Creative Suite 4.  Adobe's Creative Suite (CS) is one of the most popular graphic design, video editing, and web development applications used today. Xinet customers who have migrated to CS4 will now be able to join the powerful capabilities of WebNative Suite's asset management and workflow tools with the new features and functionalities of Adobe's newest Creative Suite.

The Xinet plug-ins for CS4 include:

•    WebNative ID CS4 – a plug-in for InDesign that creates previews for documents that have been saved after WebNative ID has been installed. These previews can be viewed through WebNative, and will contain links to images used in the document. Users can also drag and drop images from the web preview directly into InDesign documents on the desktop.

•    Annotator ID CS4  – a plug-in for InDesign that enables customers to create PDFs that contain interactive links to images that reside on the WebNative server. The plug-in also allows customers to use pre-configured FullPress queues that enable the server to send the print output from an InDesign document to a folder relative to the original file location.

•    Asset Browser ID CS4 – a plug-in that allows users to open a Web browser within InDesign itself. Designers can drag and drop images from that panel directly into layout documents. Additionally, a new layer of customization can be added using AppleScript that automates many aspects of the design and layout for both images and the metadata associated with them.

"We eagerly anticipate the new CS4 plug-ins for our Xinet WebNative system. This is a crucial upgrade to support our curriculum and research in the School of Print Media. The WebNative Suite is a key component of our workflow in our Digital Publishing Center, and support for CS4 is crucial to maintaining our success," said Erich Lehman, premedia facilities coordinator at the School of Print Media at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
