Wall Street Journal Standardizes With X-Rite in North American Operations

Wednesday, November 13, 2002

Press release from the issuing company

GRANDVILLE, Mich.--Nov. 12, 2002-- X-Rite, a leading global provider of technology solutions measuring color, light and shape, today announced that The Wall Street Journal has expanded its use of ATD News 2 auto-tracking densitometers, making it the color quality control standard for its entire North American printing operations. This will compliment the systems The Wall Street Journal received earlier this year. "We appreciate the long-standing relationship we've had with The Wall Street Journal," says Iain Trevor Pike, X-Rite's Worldwide Printing and Imaging Business Unit Marketing Manager. "We respect their commitment to lead the newspaper industry in the area of color quality control." X-Rite's ATD News 2 automated solution is designed to quickly and precisely measure color balance of newspaper production, resulting in improved quality and productivity. Since April, the ATD News 2 has been well received by the newspaper printing market. The Wall Street Journal has been joined by other major newspapers, such as The Dallas Morning News, The Orlando Sentinel, Cox Newspapers, The Des Moines Register, Interweb Montreal, The Washington Times, and Le Republicain Lorrain who have incorporated ATD New 2 as their color quality control solution. Customer feedback has found that ATD News 2 can: Improve ink mileage by ensuring proper ink levels are maintained, resulting in ink savings. Reduce ad rebates due to color issues, for improved profitability and better client relations. Minimize start up waste, leading to paper savings. Enhance the consistency and quality of editorial, advertising and commercial work.
