Landmark Event Delivers "Insightful & Innovative Ideas for Today’s Leaders" PARAMUS, N.J., November 5, 2002 — Insightful & Innovative Ideas for Today’s Leaders will be the theme of the National Association for Printing Leadership’s Top Management Conference 2003 at JW Marriott’s Desert Ridge Resort and Spa, Scottsdale, Ariz., on Feb. 19-23, 2003. True to this year’s theme, the 2003 Top Management Conference (TMC) will provide graphic arts industry executives with in-depth management information, up-to-the-minute business strategies, and multiple opportunities for leadership development and peer networking. TMC features renowned industry experts and innovative thinkers from outside the industry in a comprehensive program of keynote presentations, informative general sessions, and daily breakout sessions that address every issue facing today’s graphic arts leaders and explore what lies ahead for the industry. The 2003 keynote presentations are: - The Art of Innovation. Tom Kelley, author and general manger of IDEO, shares the strategies used by some of the world’s most innovative companies to foster a culture of continuous creativity. - Secrets of Successful Leaders. Oren Harari, leadership consultant, lecturer, and author of The Leadership Secrets of Colin Powell, presents new perspectives on competitive advantage, organizational change, and transformational leaderships. Informative General Sessions focus on: - NAPL’s 2002-2003 State of the Industry Report. In an annual TMC tradition, Andrew Paparozzi, NAPL vice president and chief economist, will present the key findings from this landmark study in a way that enables printers to put the information to work for their short- and long-term planning. - If You’re Not Measuring It, You Can’t Manage It. I. Gregg Van Wert, NAPL president and CEO, hosts a panel of company leaders, including Ken Garner of United Litho, Jim Hyder of Fetter Printing Company, and Steve Johnson of the Wallace Corporation, in an exploration of the crucial role that measurement plays in effective leadership. Attendees will hear about the measurement tools leading companies use to gauge their success and how to apply them to better understand and assess their own organizations. An array of breakout sessions are offered daily, covering topics ranging from variable data printing to top-down communication, and from effective finance practices to customer service integration. Special dining and social events throughout the Conference add excitement and provide opportunities for more informal networking and knowledge sharing. These include a golf tournament, a First Timer’s/New Member’s Reception, and a Dessert’s On Us! event. "NAPL’s TMC has long been considered a must-attend event for industry leaders because of its unsurpassed program and unparalleled networking opportunities," said Van Wert. "The unprecedented challenges facing the graphic arts industry today makes attending TMC even more compelling." Another highlight of the Conference is the Management Plus Cocktail Reception and Awards Dinner (Thursday, Feb. 20, 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.), in which the NAPL Management Plus Award winners will be introduced.
