dotrix Expands: Geert Van den hole, Stijn Simoens Named to Managerial Postions

November 11, 2002 -- dotrix n.v, the Belgian developer of digital color workflow solutions, announces two new appointments – Geert Van den hole as manager industrial printing systems and Stijn Simoens as product manager digital printing products, including the.factory - dotrix’s high-speed inkjet digital press based on SPICE technology (Single Pass Inkjet Color Engine). Geert Van den hole, previously the.factory product and market manager, will now concentrate on the development of the industrial printing market, including applications such as flexible packaging, folding cartons and speciality printing. Stijn Simoens will take responsibility for the.factory and SPICE unit, guaranteeing that product developments are made in direct response to the demands of each of dotrix’s market sectors – industrial printing, decorative printing and security printing – and ensuring that these markets are supplied with the appropriate digital printing configuration. Mr Simoens will also take responsibility for developing OEM relationships for the SPICE unit. Rob Haak, dotrix managing director, explains that the results of the commercial availability of the.factory at IPEX earlier this year, and the appointments of experienced Value Added Resellers around the globe, will "really start paying off in 2003. A large number of relationships have been developed and prospects created and this move allows Geert and his team to focus on current customer projects and develop the enormous opportunities in the industrial printing sector." Mr Haak continues: "The dotrix team is delighted to welcome Stijn - with his extensive knowledge in our specific market sectors - and we’re confident that he will successfully form the bridge between the marketing and research & development departments responsible for the.factory." Stijn Simoens brings to dotrix years of experience in the digital printing market, having been a product manager with Barco Graphics Special Applications Group and at Xeikon International. In addition to his product manager role, Mr Simoens will also take on the responsibility of dotrix’s business development of ink technology, working with partners to certify inks for specific printing applications using dotrix technology. "I am very much looking forward to my new challenges," says Mr Simoens. "dotrix is an exciting company with products offering huge potential benefits to industrial, decorative and security printing companies. Mr Simoens reports to Erwin Kempeneers, director of research and development, whilst Mr Van den hole reports to Rob Haak.
