dotrix Wins Outstanding Achievement in Counterfeit Deterrence Award

Press release from the issuing company

November 11, 2002 -- dotrix n.v, the Belgian developer of the.factory inkjet digital press designed for industrial applications, has been awarded with an 'Outstanding Achievement in Counterfeit Deterrence' award at the 4th annual PISEC 2002 product and image security exhibition and convention in Dublin, Ireland. It is the second time that this coveted award has been given to dotrix. In 1999, when dotrix was still called Barco Graphics, the award was granted to FORTUNA software, dotrix's standard-setting digital design and assembly system for security printing. This year, dotrix's technology innovation and the company's ability to partner with other organisations in the development of solutions to fight increasing levels of global counterfeiting was also credited. As well as the security applications already possible on the.factory, dotrix has recently partnered with Swiss security specialist, AlpVision, to develop a unique integrated solution for invisible personalisation and anti-counterfeiting of packaging and labels. Jeremy Plimmer, secretary general of the Product & Image Security Foundation and chairman of PISEC 2002 says: "We're delighted that dotrix was recognised as a winner in the PISEC 2002 awards. In the field of counterfeit deterrence, the advances dotrix has made to secure digital print content so that it can be used in security documentation are commendable." Jan van Laethem, dotrix's manager of security products comments: "Partnering with AlpVision to work toward anti-counterfeiting solutions is the first in a line of such partnerships we hope to forge. We're extremely pleased that this solution has been recognised by the product and image security sector." The PISEC convention enables delegates to hear the views of users, suppliers and inventors on the changing problems and the methods used to fight counterfeiting. Professionals from government, finance, commerce and brand protection meet with suppliers and developers of technologies that address piracy, counterfeiting, tampering, stock loss and supply chain security issues.
