GAMIS Announces Highlights of Next Quarterly Meeting

ALEXANDRIA, VA (October 29, 2002) – The Graphic Arts Marketing Information Service (GAMIS), a special industry group of the Printing Industries of America (PIA), announces the dates and highlights of the last quarterly meeting of 2002. The meeting will be held at the Marriott Metro Center in Washington, DC from December 2nd through 4th. Meeting highlights include: Study Presentation – "Direct Digital Imaging" (GAMIS members only) William C. Lamparter, PrintCom Consulting, will disclose findings from this new research conducted exclusively for GAMIS that delves into issues pertaining to CtP and direct digital imaging presses. "Postal Economics – Trends Affecting the Demand for Print" Malcolm Harris, Manager/Demand Forecasting & Economic Analysis for the Untied States Postal Service will give an overview of what’s happening at the USPS and how it has or might impact the demand for print. "Integrating New Technology into a Printing Firm" Mark Edgar, VP & General Manager of Corporate Press has been asked to share with his fellow GAMIS members his personal trials and tribulations of incorporating new technology into Corporate Press including CtP, wide format printing, soft/remote proofing, and the NexPress. "Books Trends" Randall Xenakis, Vice President, Marketing and Sales for Berryville Graphics/Offset Paperback will be on hand to share what is happening in their market segment of the printing business.
