Web-Based Solution Helps IKON Get Oracle Print Agreement

Press release from the issuing company

VALLEY FORGE, Pa.--Nov. 5, 2002--IKON Office Solutions announced today that it will provide document management services for Oracle Corp., the world's largest enterprise software company. IKON's Digital Express® solution will contribute to Oracle's ongoing program to enhance efficiencies in the management, production and distribution of training courseware, technical publications and workforce development materials across its manufacturing and distribution business lines. "Distribution of accurate, consistent documentation is vital to conducting business on a global scale. IKON's Digital Express system will assist Oracle in easily updating and tracking changes to their business-critical documents to ensure that only the most current version of a document is being distributed. This capability provides Oracle with confidence that they can have their documents produced and delivered with consistent quality wherever in the world the documents are needed," said Rob Onorato, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for IKON's Digital Express offering. "Customers like Oracle have found the Digital Express solution to be especially beneficial in managing repetitive print programs--documents such as training materials, marketing collateral and technical publications that are frequently revised, reprinted and redistributed." "Managing documents on a global scale can be a complex task. Tracking changes to content is vital to ensuring the accuracy of our materials. IKON has been very responsive to our needs in this area. The ability to report on critical changes to our documentation through Digital Express is an important quality-control enabler," said Matthew Mayerson, Vice President, Manufacturing & Distribution at Oracle. "We have been able to streamline our document management workflow by utilizing such a complete solution. In addition to being more efficient, we see consistent high-quality in all of the materials produced." Oracle personnel will utilize Digital Express for content management on a global basis as well as for the printing and distribution of documentation projects in certain countries. Digital Express enables Oracle to benefit from a more cost-effective distribute-then-print model to minimize order processing, shipping time and cost. In addition, this model will eliminate the need to order and inventory large quantities of materials, decreasing the amount of required storage space and reducing waste due to obsolete materials. Oracle is also taking advantage of the Digital Express system's reporting capabilities, including usage and cost reporting functionality, to facilitate efficient management of its print programs.
