This year 156 newspaper houses from 30 countries applied for membership of the exclusive International Newspaper Color Quality Club, a joint Ifra/NAA (Newspaper Association of America) initiative supported by the Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers Association (PANPA). 50 awards were conferred.   Much coveted in the trade: membership of the International Newspaper Color Quality Club 14 went to newspapers printed on KBA offset, anilox offset and flexo presses in Europe and the USA. Long-time KBA customer Concentra – Regionale Uitgeversgroep (RUG) – in Hasselt, Belgium, chalked up its fifth award with Het Belang van Limburg. RUG won an award, for Metro, the very first time it entered. Dierichs in Kassel, Germany, and Morgunbladid in Iceland both won the award for the fourth time. Neusser in Bonn, Germany (General-Anzeiger) * Druckerei Konstanz in Constance, Germany (Südkurier), * Verlagsgesellschaft in Bayreuth, Germany (Nordbayerischer Kurier), * Heilbronner Stimme in Heilbronn, Germany (Heilbronner Stimme) and * Mittelbayerischer Verlag in Regensburg, Germany (Mittelbayerische Zeitung).
