Council Announces Officers, New Directors, Certification Exams for 2003

Kennebunk, ME, October 30, 2002 — The National Council for Skill Standards in Graphic Communications has announced new Officers and Board Directors for 2003. Kanonik, Secretary/Treasurer and National Program Manager, Customer Education Services, Xerox Corporation. Co-Chairs of the Skill Standards and Certification Committee: Alan Clayton, Supervisor, Program Development, Westinghouse Savannah River Co., and Richard A. Mix, Technical Director, Flexographic Technical Association. Co-Chairs of the Promotion and Dissemination Committee: Raymond V. Corigliano, Division Technical Trainer, Vertis, Inc., and William G. Kindt, CPSS, Quality Manager, Worth Higgins & Association, Inc. The National Council presently offers seven skill certification examinations for the printing, publishing and advertising industries, including Litho (Sheet and Web) Offset Press Operators’ Multicolor Certification Examinations; the Flexo Press Operator’s Multicolor Certification Examination; and the Digital Imaging Certification Examination (DICE) Series, including Composition, Job Engineering, Image Capture and Digital Output. The press operator exams are multiple-choice, three-hour written exams, and the DICE Series are computer-interactive, offered on-line through StaffingTools.com, each ninety minutes in length.
