Heidelberg Hosts Sir Speedy Business Owners, 80 Franchisees Attend

Press release from the issuing company

Discuss Business Strategy, Participate in Demonstrations KENNESAW, GA., October 30, 2002- Heidelberg USA and 80 top-performing Sir Speedy franchisees recently met to address current challenges facing the short-run print market, discuss business growth strategies and participate in demonstrations to help the business owners maximize the benefits of their Heidelberg solutions. The key issues discussed among the group were the market’s continual challenges to combat the soft economy and conservative attitudes about consumer spending. Heidelberg product experts and business development consultants provided information on the latest tools and applications used by small commercial printers to upgrade their machines and expand and grow their businesses in the tough economic times. "This event really reinforced for me Heidelberg’s commitment to support their customers beyond the sale and I appreciate their continued interest and focus on the success of my business," said Ed Denn, a Sir Speedy franchise owner from Renton, Washington. "I am looking forward to incorporating the strategies and applications presented at this meeting into my next years business plan. Heidelberg really has a good understanding of my business challenges and continues to meet my needs with their new ideas." Demonstrations focused specifically on Prinect PrintReady pre-press workflow tool, the 2-color Quickmaster QM 46, the Quickmaster DI Pro, the 5-color Speedmaster SM 52 with coater and the NexPress and Digimaster digital presses. Additionally, Heidelberg used the day to get feedback from the owners on their key solution needs. "The owners expressed what they believed to be the most important tools for their businesses to succeed," said Bernd Blumberg, Director Sheetfed Product Management. "This really helps us create solutions and equipment that best suits our customers’ needs." The all-day Sir Speedy session is one of hundreds of customer events Heidelberg conducts each year to provide education, consultation and demonstrations. During the course of the all-day meeting, which took place Friday following Sir Speedy’s annual board meeting held in Atlanta, Heidelberg emphasized that buying Heidelberg’s equipment also means that customers like Sir Speedy buy a whole service of expertise, training and service that they would not get from a single dealer. "One of our chief strategies is to stay ahead of the competition by offering new technologies and capabilities to the market first," said Denn. "Heidelberg makes that happen. It’s completely considerate of our competitive plan. Disclosing sales information prior to installation, takes away the advantages of owning a new piece of equipment. I’d rather not share information with my competitors on what equipment I have bought and Heidelberg understands the competitive advantage of remaining discreet."
