Mohawk Digital Papers for Color Copiers Grows

Press release from the issuing company

[Cohoes, NY] — Mohawk Paper Mills, Inc. continues to score double-digit growth with its Digital Papers Portfolio, fueled by the universally positive reception from printers nationwide to its new Color Copy paper initiative launched earlier this year. Full-color printing, once the exclusive domain of offset lithography, can now be achieved on today’s color copiers and color digital printers. And paper, once a mere commodity for "copies," makes a tangible difference in the quality of the finished piece. As digital printing has become the small printer’s entrée to offering full-color printing services to their customers, Mohawk has the new-generation papers to meet small printers’ needs, helping them increase sales, productivity and quality. Mohawk’s new line of digital papers, now available at leading merchant-owned paper stores across the U.S., feature a broad range of grades, colors and finishes to meet the full range of color copier equipment specifications and applications that are unique to smaller print shops. "Stocking this line has made it far easier for us to provide small and quick printers with a simple, one-stop solution for all their cut-size needs, whether for offset or digital and for both premium coated and uncoated end-uses," says Bart Robinson, regional manager, xpedx. Consistent with its reputation for providing superlative customer service and a strong commitment to industry education, Mohawk has also invested in the re-launch of a quarterly newsletter for printers to include informative case studies and printer profiles. The first issue of Mohawk Paper Clips is slated to release this month. Mohawk’s commitment to this market is borne out by data gathered and analyzed by leading industry analysts like Lyra Research, Inc. Lyra recently predicted the premium uncoated and coated laser cut-sheet paper grades will continue to demonstrate moderate overall growth through 2006. "This is consistent with what we’re seeing on the front lines," says Mohawk’s Christopher Harrold, manager of national accounts and business development. "Color copiers, or color digital printers, are the foot soldiers in the digital printing revolution led by small and quick printers. This is their chance to win a larger share of client business, by offering services previously available only through large print shops," he continues.
