WebCRD Software Boosts Productivity for Online Print Submission

Press release from the issuing company

Rochester, New York, October 28, 2002 - Rochester Software Associates (RSA), providers of innovative digital document solutions, today announced WebCRD Version 2.0. The latest version of WebCRD features integration of Adobe PDF Transit Internet printing and document delivery technology for reliable and secure Adobe PDF-based web submission workflows. Also included in the new WebCRD version are other productivity-enhancing features such as the ability to deliver automated job cost estimates to clients and workflow enhancements that extend the ability of WebCRD to drive production printers directly from client-submitted job ticket information, completely automating the print submission process. WebCRD supports the entire digital print fulfillment process: order and reorder, file submission and archiving, print production and estimating, order delivery, and internal cost accounting. Users specify printing and finishing requirements for single and multi-document orders, and provide shipping and billing information retained for repeat use. Print centers accept, process, and manage orders, with an electronic job ticket enabling direct order submission to printers; production control and management is available via direct access to virtual print queues mapped to actual printer queues. Automated proof delivery, production management, and order status reporting further enhance print center productivity, with browser-based access permitting both production staff and end users to monitor jobs from any computer with network or Internet access. "Our users are already experiencing strong benefit from WebCRD-powered workflows," said Tim Kelly, RSA Sr. Vice President. "The Adobe PDF Transit workflow will further simplify the submission process while improving the reliability of PDF file creation for proofing and print production. Print center operators will experience significantly improved productivity while lowering error rates through use of our direct submission of end-user-created job tickets to drive production PostScript printers." WebCRD 2.0 will be shown in the RSA booth #1234 at Xplor in Anaheim CA from October 28-30, and is available November 2002, with pricing and configuration available upon customer request.
