Press release from the issuing company

GREEN BAY, WI (October 21, 2002)--Tufco Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: TFCO), a leading provider of diversified Contract Manufacturing solutions, specialty printing services, and Paint Sundries today announced its plans to install its second wide web flexographic printing press at the company’s Green Bay, Wisconsin plant and corporate headquarters location. Lou LeCalsey, Tufco’s President and CEO stated, "The installation and start-up of the second Windmoeller & Hoelscher (W&H) flexographic press in early spring 2003 is evidence of our growing presence in our Flexible Packaging, Personal Care, Home Care, Health Care and Baby Care target markets. In 1998, we embarked on our current strategy of focusing on expansion into the above markets by providing distinctive, value added manufacturing solutions for market leaders whose strengths are in product innovation. To be attractive to such market leading customers we have invested in the best-proven flexographic printing technology to provide our industry’s ‘best value’ combination of low cost and high quality. With our ISO-9001-2000 certification and our growing base of world class printing assets, coupled with recently purchased high speed wipes converting equipment, we believe Tufco is uniquely positioned to provide our customers with Contract Manufacturing solutions which draw upon our industry-unique ‘one-stop’ bundle of turn key printing, laminating, folding and packaging of both wet and dry products all under one roof." Tufco has manufacturing operations in Wisconsin, North Carolina and South Carolina.
