October 17, 2002 -- Effective October 1, 2002, Percy Dengler, 37, is head of sheet-fed press sales for the MAN Roland Group He reports directly to Board Chairman Gerd Finkbeiner. Dengler had been responsible for the North American and South American sales regions since 1999, and additionally responsible for the Asian, Australian, and New Zealand sales regions since 2001. After completing high school and training as an offset print technician, Dengler went on to complete an engineering degree in printing technology at the Technical College for Printing in Stuttgart (now the HDM, Stuttgart College of Printing and Media). He joined MAN Roland in 1994 and has worked in sales from the beginning. Among other assignments, he completed a six-months stint in the USA for sales team training. In his new, expanded role, Dengler wants to bring sales more in line with the market, and improve the business sector's orientation toward customer requirements. In this regard, the integration of sales partners into the parent company is an important objective. "All in all, we see ourselves as the market's as well as our customers' lawyer," says Dengler. "We'll do everything we can to convey this to all our customers in order to create successful business relationships based on mutual trust." The former head of the Marketing sector, Dr. Bernd Egert, 52, will concentrate at his own request on his duties as managing director of Symbiotix, the communications agency founded at the beginning of the year (as reported). MAN Roland has a 50% share in Symbiotix.
