Offering Versatile Configuration Options. Plateroom Manager and Page Pair Now Provide Native PDF Format And Powerful Web-Based Management. IFRA, Barcelona, Spain – 15 October 2002 – Agfa showed a fully integrated workflow that includes Plateroom Manager and Page Pair under the IntelliNet umbrella. By integrating these products to work seamlessly with the IntelliNet suite of workflow products, Agfa demonstrated the benefits customers will reap from the merger of Autologic and Agfa. The new versions of Plateroom Manager and Page Pair shown at IFRA provide native PDF functionality and web-based workflow management. Plateroom Manager manages and tracks pages from the front-end through to the press. It tracks output between multiple sites, manages output to multiple platesetters and multiple presses and allows for on-the-fly changes to be made during production. Page Pair simplifies and automates correct page pairing for easy imposition. Plateroom Manager 2.6 features native PDF file handling, providing newspapers with the full benefit of a streamlined PDF workflow, such as compact file transmission; on-the-fly calibration for late imager selection; the ability to accept other data formats, impose pages, add plate furniture and write out the file in its native format. The new Plateroom Manager also provides easy production management with a Web-based intuitive user interface. Operators can see an overview of multiple editions in a single view and receive plate approval with permission control. Hardcopy proofing has also been improved. Now an operator can select to proof individual composite pages, single separations, or whole editions automatically. Page Pair 2.6 also provides the benefits of working in native PDF format. It offers new pairing options—4-up or 8-up in a single pass—in addition to 2-up. Powerful Web-based management includes on-the-fly control to separation level control while the edition is running, at-a-glance input and imposition status, visual display of imposed separations within a plate, multiple language support, softproofing using ICC profiles including coloured newsprint, edition status summary, plate approval.
