Polestar Prints 21 Different Covers for Radio Times

Press release from the issuing company

Polestar Petty has printed 21 different covers for this week's issue of Radio Times, all with a Comic Relief commemorative theme.  The covers were printed as an A/B/C/D split, featuring different images equally distributed throughout the run.  The 21 versions are available across the UK, with each TV region having a range on sale.

Neil Dunning, Customer Services Director at Polestar Petty, says:  "We are delighted to have been involved with this creative treatment, which draws on our existing experience and expertise in producing split covers.  We hope the issue will help to raise funds towards this very worthwhile cause."

Sharon Thompson, Head of Production - Radio Times, adds: “It is the first time in the history of Radio Times that we have attempted to produce this many covers for one issue.  I thought 8 covers (Live 8 issue) in 2007 was pushing the boundaries, but obviously not!

“Upon receiving the brief, Polestar worked with us to deliver maximum creative impact within the schedule.”

Polestar Petty's ability to print and bind split covers has also been used by Radio Times on a number of occasions, including for Doctor Who and in anticipation of the Beijing Olympics. An equal distribution throughout the run enables collectors to purchase all the different covers if they wish or to choose their preferred image.  For this year's Comic Relief, Polestar donated towards the charity, by inserting an envelope into each issue free of charge.
