Recognizing the unique operating environments and requirements of the commercial printing and publishing market, Oce demonstrates a complete portfolio of key document production solutions developed for the digital, print-for-pay arena. The Oce exhibit, located at booth 1848, showcases state-of-the-art publishing solutions for commercial and converging print environments. The Oce solutions will be shown jointly with Bell & Howell finishing systems demonstrating comprehensive digital print and binding options. "Today’s commercial printers require a seamless transition to digital print capabilities and the teaming of Oce and Bell & Howell enables customers to easily do this," said Guy Broadhurst, Director of Product Programs for Oce Printing Systems USA, Inc. The centerpiece of the Oce exhibit, the Oce DemandStream™ 8090cx digital printing system will be shown producing high-speed, high-quality books and booklets. Demonstrating Oce’s ability to provide users with flexible binding options, digitally printed output from the Oce DemandStream 8090cx will be slit, cut, stacked and delivered to both a perfect binder and a saddle stitcher for flexibility and ease in post-processing. Some materials will be transported to the Bell & Howell DemandWorks™ perfect binding system which accepts either single- or dual-stream input along with full integrity tracking and cover-matching. Another digitally produced application from the Oce DemandStream 8090cx is a personalized employee benefits package that will be printed, slit, cut, stacked and transported to a DemandWorks booklet making system where it will be merged with a personalized cover and then saddle-stitched. Visitors to booth 1848 will also see the innovative advantages of the Oce’ full-color digital printing presses. Addressing the need for high-quality digital color printing solutions, Oce will also demonstrate the Oce CPS 700 color production system producing vibrant, full-color covers for the personalized employee benefits booklet produced on the Oce DemandStream 8090cx. The Oce CPS700 brings unprecedented productivity to color printing by combining seven direct imaging units to produce a complete toner image in one quick step with Oce advanced Copy Press technology. The Oce CPS700 workhorse color printing solution, renown for delivering consistent color quality across an entire print run, will also be shown producing a host of other typical commercial color print applications. Augmenting the digital printers, Oce will also showcase the company’s suite of Oce PRISMA workflow management software, demonstrating how advanced software solutions can help customers manage commercial print workflow more effectively throughout the entire document production process. Oce PRISMA is an architected family of workflow management software solutions that allow organizations to maximize the performance and cost-effectiveness of their multi-vendor operations independent of location, system or print device. On display will be Oce TrueProof- a tool for electronic proofing. TrueProof helps printing operations achieve dot per dot accuracy of the document to be printed. TrueProof provides improved profitability through a more efficient prepress workflow. Booth 1848 will also feature the Oce DocSetter software, an advanced tool for scanning hardcopy documents into digital printing workflow. DocSetter offers quality-enhancing make-ready capabilities like image sizing, cropping, editing and layering. It also gives customers a powerful alternative to DigiPath.
