Press release from the issuing company

October 7, 2002: Montreal, Canada – RDP Marathon Inc., manufacturer of web presses for printing of documents, direct mail, commercial, packaging and specialty products, announced today the signing of a press agreement with Vox Printing, Inc., printers of high quality trayliners and placemats for the fast food industry. Vox Printing has purchased a five-color RDP 330V web press, configured with a butt splicer, high-speed commercial sheeter, ink key control, blanket washers, along with a full SmartoSet 2000 press control system. Engineered to optimize high performance without compromising quality, this truly robust 33-inch straight-through web lead press is rated at speeds up to 1,500 fpm. The press will be installed at Vox Printing’s Oklahoma City, OK plant, and increase their capability of delivering high quality custom trayliners and placemats to their international fast food customers. Printed on a variety of papers using soy-based inks, Vox trayliners and placemats are regularly tested to meet government food safety requirements. "The 330V is unique in the industry as it offers the features of high-speed, heavy bearer pressure cylinder stack, and commercial inker/dampener design, and is ideally suited to value-added niche market applications as it brings a premium commercial quality at an affordable price," said Eric Short, president and CEO, RDP Marathon. "We appreciate our client’s need for high quality printing with the shortest possible turn-around time," said David Reid, President, Vox Printing, Inc. "The RDP 330V press will now allow us to run three-wide production versus our current two-wide production while maintaining, or exceeding, the high level of quality that our customers have come to expect of us." Vox Printing, Inc. was established in 1971 as a commercial offset printing firm, and has evolved to become a leader in the non-heatset printing business specializing in trayliners and placemats. Customers include international fast food restaurants as well as local and regional markets. RDP Marathon Inc. specializes in technical and custom engineering solutions utilizing combination print processes including litho, flexo, gravure, waterless and screen-printing for quality web printers. The RDP family of presses provides printers with the ability to serve existing markets while exploring rapidly emerging value-added segments.
