Wednesday, October 02, 2002
MENASHA, Wis., Oct. 1 -- Banta Corporation today announced three senior-level executive appointments, including the naming of a single executive to head its $1 billion Print Sector. Larry L. Panozzo, Banta Commercial Print Group President, was promoted to Banta Print Sector President, a newly created position responsible for all four of Banta's print divisions: the Banta Book, Publications, Direct Marketing and Catalog groups. In his most recent position, Panozzo was responsible for the corporation's Publications, Direct Marketing and Catalog groups. Ronald J. Musil, Banta Book Group President, was named Executive Vice President of Banta Corporation, and will relocate to Banta's corporate headquarters in Menasha, Wis. Robert A. Kreider, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Banta Book Group, will succeed Musil as Book Group President, reporting to Panozzo. Stephanie A. Streeter, Banta Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer, says Banta's Print Sector organizational realignment and the Book Group's leadership succession represent a long-planned process, culminating in today's announcement. "For some time, the Banta Corporation has been in a state of evolution and organizational progression toward creating a single Print Sector," notes Streeter. "This organizational progression has steadily advanced our efforts to be a recognized single source, multiple solutions provider to our print customers. Over the past several years, we have made significant progress cross selling print and imaging services among our four print groups. Now, with Larry Panozzo responsible for all of our print operations, we take the next step in solidifying our single-source marketplace positioning. Larry brings to this position a unique combination of proven leadership, operating talent, deep marketplace expertise, financial acumen and exceptional knowledge of Banta Corporation. "Bob's promotion to Book Group President comes as no surprise. He was named Group Executive Vice President and General Manager a year ago and since that time he has benefited immensely from Ron's mentorship and coaching. He is exceptionally well-prepared to lead our largest individual print division," explains Streeter. "With that succession complete, I am especially pleased that Ron will continue as a highly valued member of the Banta Corporation senior leadership team as Executive Vice President, prior to his planned retirement next year. He will assume several critically important Corporate assignments involving growth initiatives, strategic planning and acquisitions, as well as retain certain line responsibilities. We continue to need his business talents, wise counsel and exceptional interpersonal skills to help drive important initiatives." Panozzo joined the Banta Publications Group in 1988 as Business Manager. A year later he was named Publications Group Vice President of Administration. In 1992 he was promoted to Executive Vice President of Sales and Administration, and he became Publications Group President in 1996. Panozzo was promoted to President of the Banta Commercial Print Group in 1999. Musil joined Banta in 1985 as Vice President of Human Resources at corporate headquarters in Menasha. He became Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Banta Publications Group in 1988, and was promoted to Publications Group President in 1992. Musil was named Book Group President in 1996. Kreider joined Banta in 1983 as Corporate Accounting Manager and Internal Audit Manager. From 1986 to 1988 he was Controller of two Banta subsidiary companies. Kreider became Corporate Controller and Assistant Treasurer in 1989, and was promoted to Treasurer and Controller in 1992. He was named Book Group Vice President of Administration in 1998, and in July of last year became Executive Vice President and General Manager.
