Quad/Graphics: Steve Zwieg Applauded for Postal Prowess

Press release from the issuing company

- Steve's long-standing leadership position and influence with the mailing industry has earned him a USPS Special Achievement Award September 30, 2002 -- Steve Zwieg, vice president of Development for Parcel/Direct, knows a thing or two – or 300 – about mailing. During the past three years, Steve has helped grow Parcel/Direct's postal revenues more than 300 percent, simultaneously increasing Parcel/Direct's presence and enhancing its reputation within the mailing industry. The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) chose to recognize this accomplishment and, more significantly, Steve's long-standing leadership position and influence with all mailers, industry-wide, with a Special Achievement Award. The award was given to Steve on Monday, September 23, during a lunch event held at the National Postal Forum in Boston. At the time, Steve's many company and industry contributions were outlined. A 21-year veteran of Quad/Graphics, Steve has spent the majority of his career advancing our mailing and distribution operations. As manager of Mailing Operations, he assisted with the development of Quad/Graphics' industry-leading destination entry mail program. As a founding member of Parcel/Direct, its first managing director and, now, its vice president of Development, Steve has overseen the startup and continued development of Parcel/Direct's state-of-the-art expediting centers, which now number 10. Specifically, he is involved with strategic and expansion planning, product development and sales support. As far as industry accomplishments, Steve currently serves as president of the Parcel Shippers Association; is involved in the Mailers' Technical Advisory Committee work group; and co-chairs the USPS' redesign committee on parcels. The USPS gives Special Achievement Awards to individuals (or companies) at each year's Postal Forums to honor the person's innovation, leadership and influence within the mailing industry. Earlier this year, Joe Schick received a Special Achievement Award in recognition for his accomplishments as Quad/Graphics' director of Postal Affairs – a role in which he acts as a mailing advocate for our company and our customers. More than 7,000 people attended this year's National Postal Forum, September 22-25, at which Steve received his USPS award. The National Postal Forum is the mailing industry's premier educational and networking event for mailing industry professionals. Parcel/Direct promoted its services in a tradeshow booth as well as at a client appreciation event co-sponsored by Quad/Graphics.
