Pictorico DCP3 & GPT Media for Contract Proofing Applications Released

Press release from the issuing company

September 2002 -- Pictorico in Japan is proud to announce the international release of their DCP3 and GPT media for contract proofing applications. The DCP3 inkjet media (150gsm) uses true offset paper as a base, with special inkjet coating that is most suitable for pigment inks. The DCP3 is ideal for commercial proofing applications and is neutral in appearance with a high quality texture surface. Pictorico do not add any blue whiteners which allows the reproduction of flesh-tone and pastel colours to be more natural. Furthermore, there is no added chalk to the coating to assist the pigment inks to dry, allowing the inkjet droplets to bind together and print sharper, resulting in better halftone dot reproduction. The GPT media (220gsm) is a universal media that suits both dye and pigment based printers it has the same coating technology as the DCP3. The GPT media is suitable for the commercial, flexo and packaging markets, it is also ideal for those customers wanting a proof that feels the weight of a traditional contract proof. Another characteristic of the GPT media, is the ability to hold higher ink densities without oversaturation and ink mottleing effects being seen, resulting in a higher colour gamut. Based on the success within the Japanese Pre-Press market, where quality and stability demand are high, the new media's from Pictorico produce proofs that are hard to distinguish between them and the actual printed results. The Pictorico products will be demonstrated at the upcoming Graph Expo exhibition in Chicago from 6th - 9th October 2002 in Booth 5226. Please contact Mr Robert W. Murphy, President and CEO of Sandstone Software at the booth for more information and samples. E-Mail: [email protected]
