Press release from the issuing company

CLEMSON, S.C. The Foundation of the Flexographic Technology Association (FFTA) and Clemson University's Department of Graphic Communications will present the spring installment of their highly regarded Flexographic Process Color Printing Symposium, March 25-27, 2009.

A portion of the 2 ½ day program will be held at the new Sonoco Institute of Packaging Design and Graphics as well as the Godfrey Hall Graphics Lab on campus. This will be a preview event of the state-of-the-art facility as the official grand opening will be held later in the month.

An excellent time to take advantage of training, the program will focus on steps to optimize, characterize, measure and manage flexographic color printing in a production environment using the proven techniques of process control. Hands-on breakout sessions provide best practices for densitometers, spectrophotometers, documentation and press side color evaluations as well as an introduction to profiling. Also note a timely sessions on image engineering to get the most color using fewer inks.

Those with a modest background in flexo as well as seasoned professionals in production, prepress, sales, supply and customer service have all benefited from this training. Furthermore, the content is appropriate for all segments of flexography from wide web packaging to narrow web tag and label as well as envelope and enhanced graphics for corrugated.

In addition, participants have many opportunities to speak one-on-one with the presenters at meals and social hours that extend into the evening. Registrations for single attendees will be $895 while groups of three or more enjoy a rate of $795 per person.
