ColorNet Goes With Presto E90 Stitcher

Press release from the issuing company

Choosing the right equipment with the most up-to-date technology has perhaps never been more important.  In just the first month since ColorNet Printing & Graphics installed a new Presto E90 saddle stitcher engineered and built by Muller Martini, the E90 had already contributed many bottom line benefits to ColorNet’s business.  “The new automation, upgraded trimmer and ergonomics made the decision to purchase the E90 easy,” says Frank DiBella, General Manager for ColorNet, a full-service commercial printer located in the Washington, D.C. market.  “We are seeing productivity gains over our previous equipment, and the quality speaks for itself.”

The 9,000 c/hr. Presto E90 saddle stitcher is part of Muller Martini’s new generation of equipment and it features several advantages compared to the predecessor Presto stitcher.  Among the new enhancements is the ability to choose from three levels of automation best suited to the individual needs of each operation.  The new Presto E90 on the floor at ColorNet Printing & Graphics is fully automated, and features a large, intuitive touchscreen for fast set-ups and changeovers.  “Our Presto E-90 replaced an early 1980’s Muller machine. We plan on getting 20 to 25 years of use from this purchase.”

In addition to its enhanced automated capabilities which can reduce set-up times by more than 30% compared to the older generation Presto stitcher, the Presto E90 is ergonomically designed for quick accessibility, improved safety and overall ease of use.  Many machine components on the Presto E90 can be set up without tools, including timing adjustment for stitcher, trimmer and pockets.  The trimmer also has a newly advanced cutting sequence, with fast changeover features for two-up trimming.  The versatile Presto E90 can be expanded to 6 twin feeders with 12 feeding pockets.  This machine with a small footprint can produce a large range of product sizes without the need for separate small size kits.  Other features on the Presto E90 include SEMKO lateral thickness measurement long book control, stitch monitor and ASIR III automatic signature recognition  which assure the quality of every finished book.

ColorNet Printing & Graphics has three locations in the Washington metropolitan area, employing a total of 120 people.  ColorNet produces a wide range of commercial print products, including everything from business cards to annual reports.  The company’s clients include professional and trade associations, non-profits, professional sports teams and other local businesses.
