Creo Introduces High Quality Scanners for Professional Photographers

Press release from the issuing company

PHOTOKINA 2002, COLOGNE, GERMANY -- September 25, 2002 -- Creo Inc. will demonstrate at Photokina the new iQsmart color scanners that bring expert quality scanning in-house for professional photographers and photographic service providers. The new scanners are easy to use and their advanced features assure top quality scans coupled with high throughput. Advanced scanning technology gives photographers full control over the scanning process, while leaving them more time for creative photography. "Professional photographers can scan all their images in-house with an iQsmart scanner," explains Ziv Argov, director of marketing, Creo Scanning Solutions. "Peerless technologies and automated tools assure that the finest creative details of the original images are captured faithfully in true 16-bit files. Expert tools provide creative control while saving time and money. The iQsmart scanners are the most affordable scanners with such exceptional quality and features." High-Quality Scanning with Flexibility... Creo offers two models, the iQsmart2 and iQsmart3 scanners, which offer different resolution levels and features that suit photographers' requirements. The iQsmart3 scanner is capable of resolution up to 10,000 dpi (true optical resolution up to 5500 dpi from edge to edge). The iQsmart scanners use Creo's exclusive XY Stitch scanning technology to scan all sizes of originals (from 35 mm up to A3+) with equal sharpness and high-quality results, unlike other flatbed and "virtual" drum scanners. Originals can be transparent (negative or positive), including mounted slides, reflective, or bound in a book. The efficient scanning process minimizes turnaround time, especially important with high-volume sessions. Up to 96 35 mm slides can be scanned at one time and up to 40 high-resolution scans can be performed in an hour. Easy to Use with Automation... The intuitive workflow, automation and intelligent settings of the oXYgen scanning application enable easy operation and imaging power within a full ICC (International Color Consortium) color management profile. A unique SOOM workflow (Scan Once, Output Many) creates DT (digital transparencies) files, which can be saved in a digital archive. These files can be retrieved and used any time and as many times as needed. The iQsmart2 scanner is operating with the Windows(r) and Macintosh(r) operating systems. See the iQsmart scanners demonstrated during Photokina 2002 in Cologne from September 25-30 at the Creo stand, M048/N049 in hall 10.2. About Creo...
