Designing4Digital Media Conference at Graph Expo Announced

Press release from the issuing company

hosted by PIA/GATF and the Digital Printing Council. Marketers, print buyers, and graphic designers are all aware that customized and targeted communication significantly generates more response than generic direct mail. In recent years the printing industry has successfully accommodated their customer demands for shorter more targeted press runs. Today the printing industry is equipped with a new generation of digital presses and other technologies to offer one-to-one personalized marketing. Yet printers are not reporting the significant business growth in this area despite being equipped to handle the jobs. In an effort to substantially develop new business for printers, the Digital Printing Council (DPC) of the Printing Industries of America (PIA) will launch Designing4Digital at a Graph Expo '02 media conference. D4D was created to help printers teach their customers about available options in digital printing, and thus grow business. Vendor generic to fit any operation, this multimedia package covers the benefits and techniques of digital printing through simple yet comprehensive lessons. The package includes a book, two CDs, and a PowerPoint presentation for use by printers. The first CD consists of ten lesson modules that teach printers and designers how to create printing files, providing information on databases, design issues, design approaches, linking data to design, and digital workflows. Each lesson takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. The second CD and book contain additional supporting materials related to digital printing. Review copies of D4D packages (a book and two CD-ROMs) and press kits will be distributed at the media conference. While you are always welcome to attend and receive a review copy of the package, TOMORROW IS THE LAST DAY TO RSVP TO RECEIVE A PERSONALIZED REVIEW COPY OF THE PACKAGE. To RSVP or for more information about D4D, contact Alissa Gould, GATF's public relations manager, by phoning 412/741-6860 or by emailing [email protected].
