Roll Systems Announces DocuSheeter Support for XSIS-enhanced DocuTechs

Press release from the issuing company

Burlington, MA (September 24, 2002) -- Roll Systems announces that its DocuSheeter supports two Xerox Special Information Systems (XSIS) adaptations of the top selling DocuTech line. The DocuSheeter DT roll feed system for Xerox DocuTech 61XX printers produces up to 50,000 sheets from a roll to feed the DocuTech 3 Tray Interposer as well as the DocuTech Large Format Paper printer. The 3 Tray Interposer is a paper-feed module which allows DocuTech users to create complex documents inline utilizing up to six different paper stocks. This XSIS version of the Interposer includes an additional tray over the standard DocuTech Interposer. With this announcement, Roll's DocuSheeter DT feeds Tray 5 of the 3 Tray Interposer, bringing to this market segment the productivity benefits associated with what is essentially an input tray with a capacity of up to 50,000 sheets. The Large Format Paper (LFP) printer, recently introduced by XSIS, is a DocuTech enabled to handle sheets up to 14.33 x 18.5 inches. This increased specification may be used for a variety of applications, such as printing 6 x 9" or 7 x 9" books 4-up on oversize sheets for 8 page signatures, or for music publishing. Roll's DocuSheeter DT generates sheets to any size run by the DocuTech LFP. DocuSheeter DT makes the running of these large sheets more economical, as they cost up to 30% less in roll form rather than in sheet form. In addition, as the LFP feeds these large sheets through the Interposer Tray 5 only (or Trays 5 and 6 of the 3 Tray Interposer), DocuSheeter greatly reduces printer downtime for large sheet loading, and thus increases productivity. "These excellent XSIS solutions are only part of the story" said Pete Miller, director of Xerox alliance programs at Roll Systems. "A roll feed system such as Roll's DocuSheeter is a key component to ensure that the XSIS products are actually implemented as cost-effectively as possible by Xerox's customers." XSIS is a Xerox group headquartered in Monrovia, California, focusing on document production applications that require extending the capabilities of standard Xerox printers. Roll Systems is the world's largest manufacturer of automated paper handling, monitoring, converting, and finishing equipment for high speed electronic and digital printing. Its products are sold and serviced in over 50 countries.
