Invisible Code Printing & Reading Products Lead for Videk and their Partners

Press release from the issuing company

Production-Ready InViziCode makes its official debut across show floor ROCHESTER, NY – The industry’s most advanced invisible barcode printing and reading products will be running live applications on leading continuous forms printers and post-processing inserters at the Xplor 23rd annual Global Electronic Document Systems Conference & Exhibit, it was announced today. Videk, along with several business partners, will demonstrate InViziCode-based product solutions at the exhibit in Anaheim, California on October 28th through October 30th. The InViziCode Print System (IPS-6820) prints invisible document control, tracking and security codes in-line with high-speed production printers. Invisible codes enable users to achieve new levels of cost savings and productivity by freeing up valuable real estate on documents. Digitally embedding more information creates a smarter, more intelligent document, dramatically improving the workflow process and lifecycle of all forms of personalized output for high value, high integrity printed communications. InViziCode printing is also used to increase audit and security aspects of a print operation for greater production, document control and fraud prevention. "The printing and reading of invisible codes is the next generation technology for solutions in process control, audit, and security, leading to a more practical realization of the benefits of the Automated Document Factory (ADF)", said Tom Slechta, president of Videk. "Marketing people love InViziCode because unsightly bar codes literally disappear, leaving more real estate available for the important messaging of the enterprise, improving the overall image of the printed piece for a more professional, more uncluttered look. Videk is the first to make this revolutionary technology work as a total solution on a commercially viable basis, end to end." In the Videk Booth, (#554) the IPS-6820, in-line with an Océ 466, will be running two real-world applications printing invisible control codes. The IPS-6820 will take data directly from the print stream and print a variable invisible 2D Data Matrix code on each page. It then immediately reads the code to verify that the correct data was printed and then logs the data to a local file. An additional automated data collection step will also be demonstrated. Océ’s Verification Manager product (based on Videk technology) will be installed on the printer to read and log other visible variable data for piece-level tracking on each document. Data from both the IPS and Verification Manager can be compared to further add to the audit trail information for the production report. Also in the booth, Videk will be demonstrating post-processing applications reading InViziCodes for remittance and mail processing applications. Elsewhere at XPLOR, many of Videk’s business partners will be running invisible printing/reading products. In the Océ booth (# 632), their InvisiVision product will be in-line printing variable 2D Data Matrix Codes on documents. The Kern booth (# 654) will be running one of the applications printed in the Videk booth, reading InViziCodes on their inserters. IBM will be using the IPS-6820 in-line with a continuous forms printer to print and read InViziCodes. Both IntelMail (# 773) and Gunther (# 1001) will also have invisible ink readers attached to their inserters. Other partners, including Bowe Systec (# 1013) will be displaying invisible reading and Pitney Bowes (# 340) will be showing visible reading systems.
