OPserver Announces FlexAlert

Press release from the issuing company

Resolve Printing Issues Before they Become a Problem for You and Your Customer BOSTON, MA – OCTOBER 21, 2002 -- OPserver, Inc., a leading developer of enterprise output management systems, today announced the introduction of FlexAlert, a new, automated problem identification and notification capability for its FlexServer offering. FlexAlert will alert print personnel immediately to late printing or late arriving print jobs, ensuring critical issues can be addressed and resolved in a timely and efficient manner. Simple to install and configure, the FlexAlert system works by identifying impending problems and notifying the print operator or any other designated print personnel so that they can take action before the situation escalates. The notification can occur via a graphical pop-up alert on the FlexAlert GUI, an e-mail, a text message to a cell phone or pager, or any combination of these three methods. To ensure maximum coverage for problem resolution, alerts can also be sent, in order, to a prioritized list of individuals on a print operations team. This add-on feature increases the functionality of OPserver’s flagship product, FlexServer, an open print management solution that manages production output across high-speed printers from the major printer vendors. "When dealing with high-volume jobs, printing delays cost time and money," said David Birdsall, president of OPserver, Inc. "FlexAlert not only pinpoints critical problems, but notifies key print personnel so that they can manage and resolve the issue or, if necessary, put contingency plans in place, before it escalates into a much larger problem. FlexAlert is an affordable solution that gives our FlexServer users even more control over their operations while, at the same time, enhancing their own customer service efforts." "With multiple jobs running at the same time, it is difficult to be everywhere at once. FlexAlert will help print operators to stay connected and to be kept abreast of any emergency situations," continued Birdsall. "This is yet another way in which FlexServer is helping its customers to increase cost efficiency by reducing costly mistakes."
