Presstek Exceeds Its Expectations at Graph Expo Trade Show

Press release from the issuing company

HUDSON, N.H., Oct. 14 -- Presstek, Inc., a leading provider of direct digital imaging technology, today announced that it exceeded its expectations for sales leads on its DI and CTP products by 57% at Graph Expo 2002, the printing industry's largest trade show in North America this year. Standing Room Only Presstek's twice hourly demonstrations of its chemistry-free plates and Dimension CTP systems played to standing-room-only crowds throughout the show. Interested in seeing the only truly chemistry-free products on the market today, crowds included not only potential customers, but distributors looking to add the Anthem/Dimension CTP product line to their portfolio as well. Creo also reinforced the chemistry-free printing platform by featuring Presstek's Anthem plate on its Trendsetter and Lotem CTP devices. In addition, ManRoland printed on their new Roland 500 press using Anthem plates imaged on a Dimension400. "This year's Graph Expo further demonstrated to us that more and more people are beginning to see the advantages of chemistry-free printing," said David Ventola, Presstek's General Manager, CTP Business. "It's cleaner, faster and more affordable - it's A Smarter Way to Print." Hot Products and Must See 'Ems Presstek's newest no-process plate, Applause, received a 'Hot Product' award from Electronic Publishing Magazine for being one of the most significant new plate solutions announced this year. In addition, Presstek's Applause plate was awarded a 'Must See 'Em designation at Graph Expo for being an innovation most likely to impact printing. Expected to be commercially available in the second half of 2003, Applause is a wet offset plate that is designed to be produced in aluminum and polyester sheet formats, as well as in spooled format, which makes it easily adaptable to many CTP and DI printing applications. Market Leading DI Technology Demonstrations of Presstek's market leading on-press DI technology also garnered a high level of quality leads for Presstek's DI partners Heidelberg and Ryobi. Heidelberg, the world's leading press manufacturer, had the Quickmaster DI family of presses available for sale at the show. In comparison demonstrations, Ryobi's U.S. distributor Xpedx-Import and Presstek together successfully showcased the advantages of Presstek's DI technology in the Ryobi 3404DI press over toner-based and ink-jet systems. A new CD-ROM featuring Presstek's DI technology is now available by emailing [email protected].
