DecisionOne Completes Buy Of Imation Document Management Business

FRAZER, Pa., September 3, 2002 -- DecisionOne announced today that its acquisition of Imation's North American Digital Solutions and Services (DSS) business closed on Aug. 30. DecisionOne purchased Imation's service business and document management business in the U.S. and Canada, as well as the DSS facility in Pine City, MN. The exact terms of the deal were not disclosed. "DecisionOne is in a strong position, operationally, financially and from a customer service standpoint, to evaluate many opportunities for increasing value and growth potential. Without question, the DSS business was a very good fit," said George De Sola, chairman and chief executive officer of DecisionOne. "Not only does it allow us to leverage our assets and efficient operating infrastructure into the digital graphics market, but it also brings us more than 3,000 loyal customers and a workforce that is highly regarded in the industry." The Imation DSS business primarily provides solutions, services, equipment, and supplies for document and graphic applications that require high clarity and wide formats such as engineering documents. It also provides operational maintenance and enhancement services for a variety of imaging, telecommunications and data storage hardware products from several manufacturers. The Imation DSS business generated revenues of approximately $57 million in 2001.
