Clemson Graphic Comm. Dep. Hosts Intern Employer Day

Press release from the issuing company

Clemson, South Carolina — The Department of Graphic Communications (GC) at Clemson University is hosting GC Intern Employer Day on March 10, 2009. This biannual event, held every October and March, provides an opportunity for companies to learn more about the Clemson GC program, and recruit students for internships and permanent hire opportunities.

Internships provide the otherwise missing real-world component in Clemson's Graphic Communications program and are essential to the career preparation of every student. Particularly in lean times, companies are recognizing what some have known all along... interns provide a cost-effective means of maintaining a productive, forward-thinking workplace. Many companies employ interns on a continuous basis as an inherent part of their employee team. Some fill regular positions by using three interns a year, one each school term.

The GC Internship Program maintains long-term success placing a total of nearly 160 student interns in the industry annually in the fall semester, spring semester and summer. All Clemson GC majors are required to complete 2 full-time work periods as a requirement for graduation.
