Tensor Group Starts Up Press at Signature

Press release from the issuing company

WOODRIDGE, IL -- Tensor Group, Inc., the premier U.S. manufacturer of single-width web offset press equipment, recently completed start-up of two T-400BE 4-high towers and one H-50 jaw folder with quarter fold capability at Signature Graphics of Portland, Oregon, one of the largest full-service commercial printers in the Pacific Northwest.

Signature Graphics had expanded its Tensor pressline in early 2006 by the same number of units.  The site now contains an impressive 48 Tensor press units and 7 folders.  Signature Graphics purchased its first Tensor in 1996 and has continued ramping up its print capabilities by adding additional Tensor equipment six times since then.

The 21.5" cutoff T-400BE towers are loaded with features to provide enhanced dot reproduction and greater registration controls:  pre-loaded bearing-mounted eccentrics (design exclusive to Tensor), bearers on the blanket and plate cylinders, and helical drive gears for smoother movement.   Motorized ink fountain rollers and an EPG remote inking system offer easy color control and beautiful finished print quality.  Color-to-color registration controls are provided by CC1, Inc.

Signature Graphics, incorporated in 1984, has grown to be a world-class, full-service print business that offers outstanding value to its customers.  This success was accomplished not only by continuously improving the company's printing capacity, but also by expanding its graphics design capabilities.  Signature Graphics acquired two graphics design operations within the past four years, one in Seattle and one in Portland.

Through the years, Signature Graphics has worked with Rick Boate of Offset Web Systems, Inc., Tensor's U.S. commercial agent, for all of its press equipment needs.

Tensor Group, Inc. is a privately held manufacturer of single-width web offset press equipment for commercial, insert and newspaper markets worldwide.  Over 2400 units have been successfully installed in more than 36 countries since Tensor's inception in 1993.  Tensor components are designed, manufactured and assembled to the highest industry standards at the company's modern Chicago area facility.  Tensor product information and news can be found at www.tensorgroup.com.
