CHESTNUT HILL, MA -- Fire up your print buying skills for the 21st century at the first-ever Print Buyers Workshop at the 34th Graphics of the Americas Exposition and Conference (GOA2009) in Miami Beach.

This information-packed presentation on the latest technologies and new media will be led by two of the industry’s sharpest minds: Print Buyers International (PBI) founder Margie Dana and Rochester Institute of Technology Professor Emeritus Frank Romano (aka “the King of Print”). Combining their entertaining and engaging speaking styles with the essential skills for print buying success, the pair will prepare new and experienced print buyers - and sellers – for the changes in print buying today.

The Print Buyers Workshop will be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center on Thursday, February 26th from 1:00-5:00 pm. Designed for new and experienced print buyers, creative people, sales and marketing professionals, and customer service reps, the workshop will provide ready-to-use insights and ideas on a range of topics, including: printing processes; paper issues; proofing options; industry terminology; and current print buying trends. Attendees will come away with practical skills for career advancement plus a 50+-page handout containing all of the presentation materials.

On Friday, February 27th, from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm, Dana will return to the podium to moderate a Print Buyers Panel examining how to best work as professional print buyers today. Aimed at print company owners, management, and sales and marketing professionals, the 90-minute session will reveal what print buyers really need and want, how they use new Internet technologies, and provide their crystal-ball outlooks on the future of print. Guest panelists include senior print buyers Jim Fellows, Pearson Education; Alan M. Hamil, Fortegra Financial Corporation; Lynn Hamilton, Oceania Cruises, and Zarie Lorow, Starmark International.
