CAP Ventures Examines the Future of Inkjet Paper in New White Paper Study

Press release from the issuing company

(Norwell, MA) August 20, 2002... In a recently published white paper from CAP Ventures, analysts examine the inkjet paper market in Western Europe, forecast future growth rates, identify key growth segments, and discuss trends and developments in the industry. The complete findings of the study are available in CAP Ventures’ white paper entitled “Where is Inkjet Paper Headed?” Inkjet media continues to be one of the fastest growing segments within Western European supplies industry, in terms of volume and value. The inkjet paper market (coated/specialty and uncoated) will grow by 8.2% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 65.4 billion sheets in 2000 to 97 billion sheets in 2005. In terms of revenue, the market will grow from just over US$2 billion in 2000 to US $2.9 billion in 2005, a 7.5% CAGR. The coated portion of the market will show the greatest growth in terms of volume and value as inkjet devices are used more and more for dedicated colour applications requiring a wider variety of media. The market will grow from just over US $1 billion in revenue to US $1.9 billion, a 12% CAGR. CAP Ventures’ white paper will look at the opportunities for inkjet media in this developing market, where media manufacturers are continually trying to develop new types of inkjet media coatings, which offer the user better quality and more cost-effective paper. It also covers some of the problematic definitional issues associated with marketing inkjet media and outlines some of the proposals for the new DIN ISO standard for photo inkjet media. The complete white paper is available immediately to clients of CAP Ventures’ European Communication Supplies Consulting Service.
