MWM Dexter Goes Live With Printcafe PSI Print Management System

Press release from the issuing company

Missouri Printer Also Selects Printcafe’s New PrinterSite Internal Web-based Sales Tool PITTSBURGH, PA (August 8, 2002) -- Printcafe Software, the operating system for print, today announced that MWM Dexter, a commercial sheetfed printer in Aurora, Missouri, has gone live with the Printcafe PSI print management system. Printcafe PSI offers a suite of integrated desktop applications that help a printer to increase efficiency and profitability. PSI integrates 18 advanced software modules with Microsoft’s powerful, scalable SQL Server database management system and Macola Progression Accounting. Along with an integrated Crystal Reports package, these tools automate job planning, costing, data collection, scheduling, purchasing, inventory management, accounting and more. “We are able to access historical information, giving us an accurate picture of how our business is performing. With the integration between PSI and Macola, we’ve cut out redundant entries and made our entire accounting process more efficient,” said Mike Meyer, IT Manager at MWM Dexter. “With all of our systems running on a single network, troubleshooting problems and offering support have become much easier.” “In the past many printers used their own judgment to predict costs and profitability,” said Warren Tanabe, Printcafe PSI Product Manager. “PSI helps to eliminate the guesswork, by helping printing companies accurately measure costs and performance. PSI also generates the reports printing companies need to make informed business decisions.” In addition, MWM Dexter is an early adopter of Printcafe’s newly launched PrinterSite Internal, an online solution enabling the printer’s salespeople to collaborate more easily with their colleagues, reducing their paperwork and increasing their responsiveness. With PrinterSite Internal, specifications are entered into an electronic form that can be customized by the printing company. The data then flows automatically into the estimating module of the management system. “Our sales office is in a different location from our printing plant, which means that orders have to be emailed over and re-keyed,” commented Meyer. “By using PrinterSite Internal we will receive more accurate information more quickly, enabling us to process estimates, and in turn, orders, more quickly.”
